John has been taking “pictures” since he received a Brownie Holiday camera from his father at age 10. He attended his first photo show at age 14 and presented photos of the 1957 National Boy Scout Jamboree to the Lion’s Club, who sponsored his trip to Valley Forge, PA. About this time he received a letter of encouragement from Ansel Adams, who had reviewed some of John's work. Photography seemed to be his calling.

John and his wife, Barb, travel extensively. She picks the subject and John takes the pictures, capturing what the eye sees. It might be a subtle scene or the exciting action of a kid’s soccer game.
John’s photos have won numerous awards. His work is exhibited online, at various art shows, local business offices and has been featured on the local television channels in Denver. He also received the 2007 Photographer of the Year Award from the St Vrain Photographic Society.
